Norsafe Lifeboat Tested in 11m Waves
The Norsafe GES 45 free fall lifeboat passed a harsh weather test in waves up to 11m off the coast of Bergen on February 2nd 2014.
The aim of the test was to confirm and prove that GES 45 meets the DNV-OS-E406 standards and can maintain a certain speed and maneuverability in large waves. The test took place at Marstein off the coast of Bergen and lasted for about 9 hours. The significant wave height was measured at 5.5 meters, but the peaks were measured at around 11 meters. The wind speed was not measured below 30 meters per second during the test.
Norsafe GES 45 completed all parts of the test satisfactorily and has met the DNV-OS-E406 standards.
