Published Jan 6, 2014 12:30 PM by The Maritime Executive

Veripos, the leading supplier of high-precision offshore GNSS positioning services worldwide, has been awarded a three-year contract by Marinsa de Mexico SA de CV of Cd Del Carmen, for provision of services aboard two anchor-handling tug supply (AHTS) vessels, Amethyst and Turquoise.

Operating in the Bay of Campeche in Mexico, both vessels are being provided with Veripos’s Standard2 dual beam service featuring both GPS and Glonass capabilities while significantly increasing observational redundancy to ensure more robust positioning accuracies of better than 1 meter. Corrections, which are encoded in standard RTCM format, can be used directly with compatible GNSS equipment or external processing software.

Commenting on the latest agreement with one of Mexico’s leading independent  maritime organizations, Steve Williams, General Manager of Veripos’s Houston-based Americas region, said it marked a further stage in the company’s growing involvement in regional offshore activities extending from those in Canada and the US to others in Central and South America.
