Marine Platforms Order SOLASOLV Sunscreens
UK based Solar Solve Marine has received a contract to supply 44 SOLASAFE® roller screens for the African Inspiration. The vessel is a Havyard 857 Subsea IMR (Inspection Maintenance and Repair) ship that will be used for oil installation, maintenance and repair work on the seabed. She was designed by Havyard Design & Solutions in Fosnavåg and built at Havyard Ship Technology in Leirvik in Sogn, Norway.
Solar Solve have specialized in providing sun and glare protection to the marine and offshore industry for almost 30 years, and the SOLASOLV® brand of anti-glare screen is installed at the windows of all types of ships, rigs and cranes worldwide. Regarded as essential safety equipment, the screens effectively reject up to 87% of heat and up to 93% of glare from the sun, significantly reducing eye-strain and fatigue, and improving navigation visibility. SOLASAFE® screens are guaranteed for 7 years and Type Approved by DNV, Lloyds’ and ABS.
African Inspiration is 113m long with a breath of 22m. She has a total deck area of 1,200m2, a 250 tonne main crane and accommodation for 120 personnel.
