Published Oct 8, 2013 12:59 PM by The Maritime Executive

Gulf Coast Shipyard Group, Inc., a manufacturer of a variety of ocean-going and inland marine vessels for commercial and military markets, announced today that it will consolidate its global branding under the Gulf Coast Shipyard Group in order to better communicate the company’s array of vessels.

Gulf Coast Shipyard Group manufactures offshore supply vessels, tank barges, military patrol vessels, tugs and superyachts from two facilities located in Gulfport, Mississippi and New Orleans, Louisiana. Gulf Coast Shipyard Group re-entered the commercial vessel market in 2010 and has invested significant capital into its facilities to serve the commercial vessel market and has successfully built a significant backlog of offshore supply vessels and inland tank barges. The company also expanded its presence in the military vessel market. Earlier this year, private investment firm Littlejohn & Co., LLC invested in Gulf Coast Shipyard Group to support their strategic growth plans and continue investments in its shipyards.

John Dane III, Gulf Coast Shipyard Group’s President and CEO, said, “As our company has grown and evolved we believe our corporate identity going forward will be enhanced as Gulf Coast Shipyard Group, a brand that better captures the nature of our commercial, military and government markets. As we continue to implement our capital improvement program to our thriving Gulfport, Mississippi and New Orleans, Louisiana yards, we look forward to communicating to our current and future customers the benefits of our new company.”

Trinity Yachts—widely recognized globally as a leading builder of custom superyachts—will continue as a division of Gulf Coast Shipyard Group.
