Faststream Awards Inaugural Scholarship
Scholarship affords opportunity for continuing education through Louisiana State University
Faststream, a global leader in oil and gas, maritime and offshore recruiting and staffing, named Chad Fuhrmann the recipient of its inaugural Scholarship for Leadership Excellence. The scholarship, valued at $9,500 USD, will afford Fuhrmann the opportunity to attend a world-class continuing education program hosted by Louisiana State University’s E.J. Ourso College of Business Stephenson Entrepreneurship Institute.
Mr. Fuhrmann is the business director for the Americas at Maritime Assurance and Consulting, Ltd. (MAC), where he is responsible for all U.S. operations. He previously held leadership roles at DNV GL, GL Noble Denton, and Oceaneering International. Fuhrmann has nearly 20 years of experience in the marine industry and was a commissioned officer in the U.S. Navy Individual Ready Reserve.

Fuhrmann earned undergraduate degrees from New Mexico Military Institute and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, where he also earned his master’s degree in marine engineering. He is a member of the National Offshore Safety Advisory Committee, the Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers, the Marine Technological Society and the International Association of Marine Investigators.
