AusGroup Limited (‘AusGroup’ or ‘the Group’) subsidiary MAS Australasia Pty Ltd (‘MAS’), a leading provider of scaffolding and associated services for construction and maintenance projects in the mining, oil & gas and infrastructure sectors, is pleased to announce the award of a contract for the supply of scaffolding material by CB&I and Kentz Joint Venture (CKJV), for works on the Chevron-operated Gorgon Project.

MAS will be providing 6,100 tonnes of scaffolding material for the project, which will be used to provide access for the completion of modules, ancillary structures and equipment for all trades services being carried out on Barrow Island.

Expected to create approximately 50 local jobs, this award builds on the work MAS has already undertaken with CKJV on the project. In June 2013, MAS was commissioned by CKJV to provide ongoing scaffolding services, including the provision of key MAS management personnel and planning, design, engineering and coordination assistance.

Stuart Kenny, CEO and Managing Director said: “The award of this contract is the result of AusGroup’s ongoing commitment to building strong, sustainable relationships with its clients. As a leading provider of access services in Australia, MAS is well placed to continue to deliver for CKJV and the Gorgon Project.”

The Gorgon Project is one of the world’s largest natural gas projects and the largest single resource development in Australia’s history. It is operated by an Australian subsidiary of Chevron and is a joint venture of the Australian subsidiaries of Chevron (47.3 percent), ExxonMobil (25 percent), Shell (25 percent), Osaka Gas (1.25 percent), Tokyo Gas (1 percent) and Chubu Electric Power (0.417 percent).
