Maritime Education and Training Summit:

A Collaboration for the Industry's Future "Securing Maritime's 21st Century Workforce"

The 2015 World Maritime Day Conference will feature individual speakers, plenary sessions, and a series of workshops over a two day period. The sessions will run along three tracks of interest— Educators, Industry and Administrators- to allow attendees to sit in the sessions that interest them.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

EDUCATORS:  Primary and Secondary Maritime/Marine Teachers, Principals, Administrators, Maritime Museums, Maritime/Marine Organizations

Anyone committed to educating K-12 students about maritime heritage, marine science and maritime careers would benefit from this conference. Learn about successful programs around the country and about partnerships schools have developed to enrich their programs.

INDUSTRY:  Employers, Labor Organizations, Trade Organizations. Learn about innovative K-12 maritime and marine programs that are educating our future workforce in STEM and about careers in the Maritime and Marine industries.

ADMINISTRATORS:  Federal, State, and School Officials. Learn about obstacles to school completion, marine and maritime employment, and how you can help.  Learn how to start a maritime/marine school or program in your location.  Learn about how maritime/marine education is putting the M in STEM education.

WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT?

CONFERENCE FORMAT:  The conference, over a two day period, will feature individual speakers, plenary sessions, and a series of workshops.  The sessions will run along three tracks of interest:  Educators, Industry, and Administrators.  This will allow attendees to select the sessions that interest them.
