SOCP 2011 November Meeting

Theme: Regulatory Changes and Safety/Security Issues Impacting the Maritime Industry


November 1-3, 2011 at MITAGS, Linthicum, Maryland

The Ship Operations Cooperative Program (SOCP) cordially invites maritime industry representatives to attend and participate in our November meeting to be held at Maritime Institute of Technology and Graduate Studies (MITAGS) in Linthicum, Maryland. 

Delegates and ranking officers of US Maritime Administration, Department of Transportation and Shipping Companies have been invited to address this meeting. In addition, senior representatives from Federal and State Governments, shipping companies and the commercial industry will present a comprehensive discussion on the impact of regulatory changes in the areas of safety, environment and training in the US maritime industry. The agenda includes presentations and panel discussions on broad range of topics, such as, Vessel Security, Mariner Safety, North American ECA, Vessel Response Plans, Vessel General Permit, Safety Culture and Work Force Development. 

SOCP is sponsoring an anti-piracy demonstration aboard a MARAD vessel in Baltimore on November 1, 2011. The demonstration project will include some of the latest techniques and technologies being used today.
