PetroChina Taizhou Marine Company to Implement AMOS
China-based SpecTec Asia Pacific East Ltd has recently signed a contract with PetroChina Taizhou Marine Company Ltd, in Zhejiang province, the People’s Republic of China.
The contract is for the supply of AMOS Maintenance and Purchase, database and associated consultancy services for 5 ships. A further installation will be set in the Company Head office.
The requested module is a Window application for the integrated management of maintenance work and costs, stock control and purchasing. This product is specifically suitable for large companies and organisations, where maintenance, stock control and requisitioning take place at several local installations, and purchasing and transport planning take place at central headquarters.
PetroChina Taizhou Marine Company is a fully-owned subsidiary of PetroChina Company Limited (“PetroChina”), the largest oil and gas producer and distributor in China.
Established during November 1999, PetroChina is not only one of the companies with the biggest sales revenue in China, but also one of the largest oil companies in the world.
In December 2006, PetroChina acquired a local marine shipping company in Taizhou City of Zhejiang Province to form its nationwide headquarters for marine shipping. The acquired company has been renamed PetroChina Taizhou Marine Company, and become a fully-owned subsidiary of PetroChina.
The move marked that the company was turning into its own marine shipping business instead of the marine shipping agency of the past.
Currently Taizhou city is a nerve center for PetroChina, cause of its recent Oil refinery venture with Royal Dutch Shell Plc (RDSA) and Qatar Petroleum for the building of a refining and petrochemical complex. The Taizhou refining and petrochemical project will refine imported condensate to produce ethylene and other petrochemicals.
