Kongsberg Maritime Unveils New Logo and Tagline
[By: Kongsberg Maritime]
Kongsberg Maritime has unveiled its new logo and tagline, ‘Beyond begins here’. This is the company’s first independent visual identity following its demerger from Kongsberg Gruppen and listing on Euronext Oslo Børs in April 2026.
“As an independent company, we are setting our own course, and our ambition is to define what comes next in maritime technology. We invest heavily in people and technology, and investing in our brand is part of the same long-term commitment. We compete on a global stage for customers, capital and the best talent in our industry. They need to know who we are, what we deliver and where we are heading,” said Lisa Edvardsen Haugan, CEO of Kongsberg Maritime.
The symbol is an abstract K. It draws on the bow of a ship cutting through the water and on several of the company’s own products and technologies. The result is a solid, timeless and streamlined mark designed to express both precision and motion.
A new chapter
Kongsberg Maritime is a world leader in maritime technology, with 8,800 employees in 35 countries. The company delivers propulsion, navigation, automation, ship design, digital solutions and lifecycle services. Its customers span merchant shipping, offshore energy, cruise and ferries, fishing, ocean research and naval vessels. Its systems are installed on more than 30,000 vessels, roughly one third of the world fleet.
“Our industry is being reshaped by the energy transition, digitalisation and shifting geopolitics. We want to be the partner our customers turn to when the challenges are at their most complex,” said Edvardsen Haugan.
Beyond begins here
The new identity is built on the brand idea “Beyond begins here.” It is rooted in more than 200 years of industrial heritage and in the spirit of the explorers who pushed the boundaries of the oceans. It reflects a culture of curiosity and a drive to solve complex challenges for customers.
“We didn’t set out to reinvent Kongsberg Maritime. We wanted to find a clearer expression of what already defines us: curiosity, the ability to deliver, technological breadth and the will to always go beyond,” said Jon Berge, Vice President Communications at Kongsberg Maritime.
“The new identity brings our broad portfolio together under one clear expression. For our customers, that means one partner for the entire vessel and its whole lifecycle, from design and propulsion to automation and service,” Berge added.
The identity was developed together with TRY, a Nordic communications and design house. It will be rolled out gradually across vessels, offices, trade shows and digital channels, with new signage at company locations from the second quarter of 2027. The company’s vision, mission and values will be developed further together with its employees.
