The video above documents what is thought to be the first ship-to-ship transfer of LNG, 32 years ago, in March 1984.

The trial was conducted by Abu Dhabi Gas Liquefaction Company (Adgas) using the LNG carriers Norman Lady and Hilli in the Persian Gulf.

Hilli was also involved in another first on April 29, 1977. The vessel left Das Island carrying the first LNG shipment exported by Adgas - the first natural gas liquefaction plant in the Middle East.
