EVENT: Pacific Northwest Maritime Conference with Interactive Coast Guard Session

Published Sep 20, 2012 10:32 AM by The Maritime Executive

A new conference is being held in Seattle on September 25- 27, the Pacific Northwest Maritime Conference.  In addition to the great topics to be discussed at the conference, Coast Guard personnel are scheduled to host an interactive session on Monday, September 24, the day before the conference,  where maritime professionals can come and get answers to questions they may have about navigating the Coast Guard credentialing and medical review process.  It is also a chance to provide feedback to the Coast Guard.

Representing the Coast Guard will be:
Capt. Anthony Lloyd  - Commanding Officer, National Maritime Center
Mr. Luke Harden  - Mariner Credentialing Program Policy Division

This session is the afternoon before the conference commences, and registration at the conference is not required to attend this session.  All are welcome, at no charge, to join this discussion on Monday.

Mariners and educators are encouraged to come to this session to ask questions and get answers about the process and the thinking behind the answers.  Discuss applications, qualifications, course approval, standards, the appeal process, the question bank, future developments that the National Maritime Center has in mind.  Coast Guard personnel will be present to answer your questions and to listen to your suggestions and observations.

Below is the excerpt from the convention program, describing the session.  The conference, and this Licensing Session, are being held at the Grand Hyatt Seattle.  The entire program can be found at www.pacificnorthwestmaritimeconference.com
