The Carnival Glory has rescued a crewmember who went overboard from Norwegian Getaway on Saturday. The crewmember was found 21 miles north of Cuba on Sunday and is reported as being in a stable condition.

The U.S. Coast Guard initiated a search on Saturday after it was notified that the 33-year-old Filipino crewmember was seen going overboard 28 miles northwest of Pinar del Rio, Cuba.

A Coast Guard Air Station Miami HC-144 Ocean Sentry airplane crew was diverted to conduct search patterns.

Norwegian Getaway is currently sailing a seven night cruise to the Western Caribbean and due to return to Miami on Sunday. She has a crew of around 1,500 and can accommodate nearly 4,000 guests.

According to Cruise Junkie's Dr. Ross Klein, 313 people have gone overboard since 2000, with 12 cases so far this year. A passenger was rescued after falling from the Norwegian Epic off the coast of the Bahamas in March this year.
