American Public University To Conduct Graduate Degree Orientation at MITAGS

Glen Paine, Executive Director of the Maritime Institute of Technology and Graduate Studies (MITAGS), announces that American Public University System (APUS) will conduct a Graduate Degree Orientation Seminar at the MITAGS campus at 7 P.M. on Wednesday, August 11th, 2010. All Previous and Current CMM Program Students are invited to attend this career changing seminar.

APUS has agreed to allow transfer of academic credit earned from completing the MITAGS Chief Mate/Master (CMM) License Advancement Program courses into APUS Graduate Degree and Certificate Programs.

The AMU Graduate Degree Orientation Seminar will be presented by Mr. Irv Varkonyi, Marketing Manager, Transportation and Logistics Programs at APU.

“These graduate degree transfer credits will allow a MITAGS merchant mariner to leverage their MITAGS classes into degrees which will provide an even stronger foundation for their future maritime careers” say Irv Varkonyi, Marketing Manager, Transportation and Logistics Programs at APU. Topics of the orientation will include:
• Approved Semester Hour Credits by Degree Program
• Differences in Core Requirements and Elective requirements
• Student Enrollment Procedures
• Credit Transfer Procedures

• On-line Course Delivery Options
All APU courses are delivered exclusively on-line to allow mariners to complete their educational goals wherever they are world-wide.
