Maersk Line, Rickmers-Linie Discontinue JV

Published Mar 21, 2014 8:07 PM by The Maritime Executive

Maersk Line and Rickmers-Linie (Americas) have mutually agreed to discontinue their joint venture, Maersk-Rickmers U.S. Flag Project Carrier.

The companies expressed their appreciation for the opportunity to work with our many customers and partners and wished them fair winds and following seas. No reason for the move has been given yet.

Maersk Line offers U.S. flag project services using its containerships and roll-on/roll-off vessels. The company welcomed Russ Bruner as president and CEO in February, 2014.

With more than 175 years to its name, Rickmers-Linie operates global project and heavy-lift liner services. In February, the company announced an expansion of its break bulk services to Puerto Rico with a partnership with National Shipping of America.
