Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. announced that on July 4, the MOL-owned and operated bulk carrier Myoken conducted a search and rescue operation about 130km northwest of the Chuuk Islands and rescued all four Micronesians aboard a small boat that was adrift with engine trouble.

In the predawn hours of July 4 (local time), the Myoken, out of Brisbane, Australia, bound for Japan, received an emergency signal from a small boat that had suffered engine trouble. The Myoken immediately changed course and headed for the drifting boat. That same morning, the four Micronesians aboard the small boat were rescued and turned over to the Pisaras Port Authority of the Federated States of Micronesia at 8:35 a.m.
