Empty the Tanks: Show's Over
Saturday, May 24, is the second annual Empty the Tanks Worldwide event.
On the first-ever Empty the Tanks day, held in July last year, 24 locations in 12 countries hosted events. The idea for a day dedicated to supporting the anti-captivity movement was started by Rachel Greenhalgh after she spent time as a Cove Guardian in Taiji, Japan.
This year, there are already over 40 events planned. The events aren’t designed to be radical protests, but rather public awareness campaigns and an opportunity to educate the general public about the issue of marine mammal captivity.
