A 193-metre-long container ship ran aground on Sunday afternoon near the University of Hong Kong sports ground in Pok Fu Lam.
The South China Morning Post reports the vessel would probably have collided with the shore had the captain not dropped the anchor to slow the vessel down.

The German-registered Hansa Constitution was said to have been pushed ashore by strong monsoon winds after an engine failure, according to the Fire Services Department.
