Center for Maritime Training Announces Enhanced USCG License Program

BUZZARDS BAY, MA (June 9, 2008): The Center for Maritime Training at Massachusetts Maritime Academy recently received approval from the United States Coast Guard to offer Assistance Towing and Auxiliary Sailing Assistance Endorsement courses. These courses include review and on-site examinations for the Coast Guard's Towing and Sailing Assistance license endorsements. With the addition of these programs, the Center now offers a complete one-stop resource of enhanced programming for those seeking to obtain their captain's license.
The Center for Maritime Training offers the OUPV (Operator of Undisputed Passenger Vessel) and 100 Ton Master License course year-round with flexible scheduling. This level of license, issued by the United States Coast Guard, permits operation of a passenger vessel up to 100 Gross Tons. This license is most frequently required for charter boat captains, ferry and tug operators. In addition to the Buzzards Bay campus, the courses are also offered on Martha's Vineyard and in Marshfield, Massachusetts.
