Stamford, CT - February 14, 2007: Edoc Systems Group Ltd (Edoc), a leader in marine industry management software, announced today that Connecticut-based Penn Maritime Inc. (Penn) has selected Edoc’s HELM Marine Operations Software to replace their existing scheduling and invoicing system.

“After reviewing various providers of marine scheduling software, we felt Helm (and Edoc) could provide the most flexibility during the development process,” noted Charles Goodrich, Chartering Manager, Penn Maritime Inc. “The finished product will meet all our current scheduling and database needs along with the ability for future expansion into areas such as Ship-to-Shore data transfer, crewing/payroll, purchasing/inventory, and data sharing with our customers and business partners."

Penn’s current fleet of 19 barges and 13 tugs that operate along the east coast, gulf coast and west coast of the United States will have their voyages scheduled, tracked, and invoiced through HELM. Since Penn’s business is focused on bulk tanker barging it presented a unique situation for which HELM was adapted.

“We’re excited to have Penn Maritime join our family of marine transportation companies who are experiencing the day-to-day and long-term benefits of HELM,” noted Ron deBruyne, President of Edoc. “Being the largest U.S. coastal transporter of heated asphalt products, Penn tracks a large amounts of unique data regarding their voyages. We were pleased at how the flexibility of both HELM and our team could provide them with the solution they required.”

HELM will solve many problems users face in Penn’s current system. HELM’s flexibility makes it perfect for Penn’s high volume of business and constantly changing business requirements. By providing a graphical user interface to plot the vessel’s voyages, the system provides another tool for users to efficiently plan schedules. Penn will also be benefiting from the remote accessibility of HELM allowing users to securely work from offsite locations without making copies of their data as was done before.
