Huawei, a leading global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider and Keppel Data Centers Holding Pte. Ltd. (KDCH), a leading developer and operator of high quality carrier-neutral data center facilities in Europe and Asia Pacific announced the launch of Huawei's Cognitive Data Center reference site located at Keppel DC Singapore 4.
The launch follows the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Huawei and KDCH to explore potential collaboration on data center efficiency and sustainability in the areas of Green Technology, High Performance Computing, Scientific Software Application, Networking Solutions and more.
The Cognitive Data Centre reference site will be a showcase of Huawei and Keppel Data Centers’ state-of-the-art application of cognitive computing within a data center environment. Enterprises will be able to leverage deep learning and AI-driven computing to drive automated insights that will inform their next step of growth. It will feature technologies geared towards providing a virtualized and energy efficient data center management system. Virtualization allows enterprises a single interface to customize storage resources and data processing capabilities across different data centers on demand. As a result, enterprises will lower operating and maintenance costs while increasing operational efficiency.
Wang Shao Tong, Managing Director, Huawei Enterprise Business Group (Singapore) said: "Enterprises are going through disruptive phases of digital transformation. They are expected to process massive volumes of data. For instance, for each autonomous vehicle, they can generate as much as 4TB per day. Enabling cognitive intelligence for data centers will help enterprises identify gaps and opportunities quickly and move ahead of the competition. The collaboration with Keppel Data Centers will bring us one step closer to realizing fully-cognitive data centers."
Kenny Khow, Global Head of Sales, Keppel Data Centers said, "We are pleased that our track record as the provider of robust and reliable data center solutions for the digital economy has paved the way to this collaboration with Huawei. Keppel Data Centers is committed to continuously explore improvements that benefit the mission-critical IT infrastructure of our customers and set industry benchmarks. We look forward to potentially uncovering new insights that can enhance the data center as we know it today."
