Resolve Marine Group has completed the month long technical assessment of the sunken vessel, Manolis L, for the Government of Canada in cooperation with the Canadian Coast Guard.

Resolve’s findings will be published in a formal report and submitted to the Government of Canada. The report will include an estimated location and the volume of petroleum products within the vessel. The Government of Canada may ultimately use this assessment for further planning and response operations.

Once Resolve was awarded the technical assessment contract in July 2016, Resolve assembled a diverse team of experts to utilize surface-supplied divers and Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROV) to physically assess and sample petroleum products from the wreck.

MV Manolis L ran aground in January 1985, on Blowhard Rocks and sank in Notre Dame Bay, Newfoundland with up to 500 tons of fuel in the hull.
