NAMEPA Welcomes New Members AWO and Envirocleanse

Carleen Lyden Walker, Co-Founder and Executive Director of North American Marine Environment Protection Association (NAMEPA) announced today that The American Waterways Operators (AWO) and Envirocleanse, LLC have joined NAMEPA as new members. These companies have joined NAMEPA to support and participate with other marine industry organizations in our efforts to “Save Our Seas”.

“NAMEPA’s broadening membership in the industry enables continued growth in collaborating on new strategies to preserve the marine environment by promoting sustainable marine industry best practices”, stated NAMEPA’s Carleen Lyden Walker. “NAMEPA is proud to welcome these highly respected marine industry organizations to our membership. Our members share NAMEPA’s goals and efforts to create a stronger voice for marine environment protection through advocating, educating and activating communities.”

The American Waterways Operators is the national advocate for the U.S. tugboat, towboat and barge industry, which serves the nation as the safest, most environmentally friendly, and most economical mode of freight transportation. AWO members operate on the rivers, coasts, Great Lakes, and harbors of the United States, moving vital commodities safely, reducing air emissions, water pollution, and highway congestion, protecting homeland security, and providing family-wage jobs for tens of thousands of Americans. AWO promotes the long-term economic soundness of the industry and works to enhance its ability to provide safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible transportation.

The mission of Envirocleanse is to provide a superior and sustainable ballast water treatment system that assists companies around the world to perform at the highest safety, compliance and reliability standards.
