Coffee-lovers can change lives every month with the launch of BySea’s coffee subscription service, where 100 percent of profits go to international maritime charity Sailors’ Society.

BySea is Sailors’ Society’s coffee brand. Its subscription service offers six coffee blends, all ethically sourced from regions where the charity works: Brazil, India, Asia Pacific, the Americas, Africa and a decaf blend from Latin America.

Sailors’ Society supports seafarers and their families in need around the world. With 90 percent of everything we use coming by sea, there are 1.6 million seafarers worldwide, who face isolation, violent storms and even piracy to do their jobs.

The subscription is available as ground coffee or Nespresso-compatible pods, and there is also a selection box of pods for those who want to try the different blends or as an ethical gift.

Adam Stacey, Sailors’ Society’s director of development, said: “We’re very excited to be launching our new subscription.

“Everyone who signs up will be able to enjoy exceptional coffee – along with the sweet taste of knowing that each cup is helping seafarers and their families in need.”

Sailors’ Society helps seafarers through a wide range of support services, from giving them lifts to the doctor when they arrive in port, to offering crisis counselling to victims of piracy or natural disasters.

The charity also looks after seafarers’ families, helping them if their loved ones are in crisis, and providing education and housing in some of the poorest seafaring communities.
