Veson Nautical Partners with Bunkerworld
Veson Nautical and Bunkerworld have partnered to provide Veslink users with real-time, port-based bunker prices. With the new Veslink-Bunkerworld integration, users can instantly access the latest bunker rates by hovering over ports on the map, tightly linking their bunker decisions and voyage planning.
Today, bunkers can account for more than 50% of total voyage costs. In addition, 2015 regulations and volatile fuel rates challenge bunker planners to effectively manage voyage profitability. Many shipping companies already leverage IMOS Bunker Management to accurately forecast, plan, and procure bunkers. Veslink’s Bunkerworld integration is Veson Nautical’s latest business solution that supports more informed bunkering decisions.
According to Per Ostman, Veslink Product Manager, “We are pleased to offer this new solution to our clients. In light of current market changes, Veson Nautical is focused on providing solutions that bring visibility to marine fuel prices and drive cost-efficient bunker planning. The Bunkerworld integration enables Veslink users to assess the best bunkering options in the same online tool where they’re making critical voyage decisions.”
Commenting on the partnership, Petromedia CEO, Matt Cape said, “We’re delighted to be collaborating with Veson Nautical and furthering our strategy of increasing the channels through which Bunkerworld data is available. Veson Nautical’s client base is a key market for us.”
Bunkerworld is trusted for its unrivaled understanding and coverage of the marine fuels markets, and many subscribers also leverage Veslink to streamline ship-to-shore collaboration. Key features of Veslink’s Bunkerworld integration include:
• Instant bunker quotes on the Veslink fleet map, to inform pre-fixture routes and mid-voyage deviations
• Daily spot prices updated throughout the day
• Support for all main fuel grades including IFO, MDO, MGO, LS, and LSMGO
• Price change indicators from the previous day highlight recent price trends
