Alewijnse Embraces Collaborative Culture at SMM

Published Sep 5, 2014 12:50 PM by The Maritime Executive

Following last year’s success at Europort, Alewijnse Marine Systems will once again be showcasing its capabilities as a global systems integrator at the SMM trade fair (Hall B6 - stand 336) taking place in Hamburg from 9-12 September.

This year the company has selected collaboration as its theme, under the slogan ‘Continuously Connected from Idea to Sea’. This is designed to highlight the philosophy and work ethic that underlies the way that Alewijnse works with its customers and its commitment to provide the very best in support and service at every step of a project.

For Alewijnse this means working alongside the client from the very beginning; starting with helping them to determine what exactly their objectives may be. Only once that is established does the work on the specification and proposal begin, which itself is continuously refined until all the client’s criteria have been identified and met.  At the heart of the Alewijnse ethos lies the principle that only by understanding what the client wishes to achieve can it offer the solutions that best match their goals and aspirations.

Thereafter, Alewijnse applies its knowledge and experience to create and install unified, integrated electrical systems, handing them over only after an exhaustive process of testing and trials, and even then continuing to provide full support and maintenance services according to the needs of the customer.

On 10 September the Alewijnse team will also once again be reprising its highly successful Making Waves client event. Over 100 customers will be joining the directors and senior management for an evening of networking, entertainment and socializing, taking place in the Elbtorquartier near the historic warehouse district in the heart of Hamburg. After a cruise through the up-and-coming Magdeburger Hafen on the River Elbe, guests will enjoy international cuisine and entertainment.

CEO Dick Alewijnse will also make a personal address in which he will explore what it is that makes family-owned and managed businesses special. In particular he will identify exceptional commitment and a pro-active culture as particular benefits of such an ownership model.
