ALMACO has delivered the Public Areas modernization project onboard Bimini SuperFast, formerly SuperFast VI, which is transporting passengers between Miami and Bimini. ALMACO’s scope involved refurbishing and converting current common areas into new public spaces on decks 7 through 10. The project was completed and delivered at the end of June 2013.

On deck 7, the old Disco was modified into new Sportsbook & Bar area, a section of the Reception area turned into the Genting Rewards, the Duty Free area was split into two VIP casinos and the previous main bar and casino area was converted into Miami Casino and the Real McCoy Bar. On Deck 8, the Panorama Lounge was transformed into Resort World Casino.  Additional modifications were made on Deck 9 where the Bimini Breeze Bar received a new deck covering, new furniture, repairs to the bar shutters and the front bar. Also, the existing airseat room and couchettes were converted into the new CCTV Room and Offices.

Lastly, on Deck 10, the Pool deck was modified into Aqua Bar and Club Bimini with the upgrades including new deck covering on the whole deck (1490m2), a new small stage, repairs to the bar shutters and the front bar as well as teak landings and touch ups to existing teak benches.

Renovations started in the beginning of May in Malaga (Spain), and continued during the sailing to Bahamas, in Freeport (Bahamas), and in Miami. ALMACO’s original work scope and several additional works were completed in time by the end of June.

The 32,728GRT vessel operates a route between Miami, Florida, and Bimini, the closest point in the Bahamas to the mainland United States, to support Genting Group’s new casino project in Bimini.
