Jaxport, the port of Jacksonville, Florida, has selected Kristen DeMarco as the port’s new Chief Commercial Officer. DeMarco will be responsible for leading Jaxport's international cargo sales and marketing initiatives as well as tracking trends and issues related to maximizing the port’s business potential.

DeMarco has nearly two decades of business development experience in the logistics industry, with a track record of successfully negotiating multi-million dollar deals and building relationships with decision-makers from some of the world’s largest companies. Prior to joining Jaxport, DeMarco served as Vice President of Ocean Business Development – North America for CEVA Logistics, leading the division’s ocean product sales efforts during a time of double-digit revenue growth. She has also served in business development roles for shipping lines owned by A.P. Moller – Maersk.

“Kristen’s skills and contacts will be major advantages as we keep building our business reputation worldwide,” said Jaxport CEO Eric Green. “She comes on board during a time of incredible opportunity for our port and our community, and her industry know-how will help us continue our current momentum well into the future.”

Jaxport is one of the nation’s busiest vehicle-handling ports and continues to achieve record-setting volumes and double-digit cargo growth. The port is investing in a harbor-deepening project that will take its shipping channel to a depth of 47 feet, allowing it to serve larger container ships carrying larger loads.
