Seven people have died in the offshore rig construction yard of ICA Flour in Mexico after an elevator fell 30m. Local media reports indicate that five died immediately, two others died later in hospital and one is still in a serious condition.

Not all the people that died were in the elevator, as it hit workers standing below when it fell.

The accident happened on Wednesday while the yard was constructing a rig for the state-owned oil company Pemex.
