Oil Flow to Libyian Port Still Blocked

Oil condensate flows from Libya's Wafa field to the western Mellitah port are still blocked, while gas exports to Italy are flowing normally, state-run National Oil Corp (NOC) said on Sunday.

A group of oil security guards has blocked an oil pipeline from the 30,000 barrel-per-day field to the port, according to Libyan media.

Gas was still flowing through a separate pipeline from Wafa field to Mellitah, said NOC spokesman Mohammed El-Hariri. Gas from the field goes to Italy and for domestic power generation.

The joint operators of Mellitah and the Wafa field are NOC and Italy's ENI.

Most Libyan oilfields and export terminals have been closed by a mix of militias, armed tribesmen and security guards striking to press financial and political demands.

Libya's weak government is unable to control dozens of militias who helped oust Muammar Gaddafi in 2011 but refuse to disarm.
