The International Ship and Port Security code deadline was July 1st; yet, there are still 20 ports in the U.S. and Caribbean that haven't complied. Among the 20 ports are 13 deepwater terminals from Long Beach to the Virgin Islands. Of the five terminals in Puerto Rico and St. Thomas, only the American Yacht Harbor in St. Thomas was reinstated. The Bumble Bee International, a bulk petroleum terminal in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, said that it will no longer accept SOLAS vessels, opting to receive ships under 200 gross tons. In Florida, La Cruz Casino cruises terminal in Mayport remains closed, as does the Bernuth Marine Terminal in Miami. Bernuth owns a container terminal in Miami, and its operator is also in violation. The Petroleum Fuel and Terminal in Jacksonville has been reopened, but under strict Coast Guard Rules. In Louisiana, Enterprise Tebone Fractionalization Plant and El Paso Services terminals remain closed. The two terminals are in Geismar and handle LPG and gasoline.
