Two people are dead and six are still missing as the result of a shipwreck in south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region earlier this week. Authorities confirmed reports as of Tuesday. The passenger vessel collided with a cargo ship loaded with porcelain clay on the Xunjiang River in Guiping city.

A reported 30 people have been rescued from the wreck, although the owner of the ship claims that the vessel’s capacity is 30. A total of 38 passengers are now being reported as the total body count onboard, but the initial claim was 29 passengers in total.
