Chemco's solvent-free, wet & rust tolerant coatings are the future for potable water tanks. These NSF certified and FDA compliant coatings allow maintenance and repair work to be carried out in the most cost effective, safe and efficient way.

Our potable water system is made up of two revolutionary coating systems: Epo-chem™ RS 500P & Epo-chem™ RA 500M.

Epo-chem™ RS 500P is a solvent-free, wet & rust tolerant universal multi-purpose epoxy primer and Epo-chem™ RA 500M is a solvent-free, wet tolerant, glassflake epoxy topcoat.

When implementing Chemco's potable water tank coatings, the tanks can return to service in just 48 hours, much quicker than the 7 days required using conventional paints. This offers substantial time and cost savings for our customers. There are also no recoating limitations.

The wet & rust tolerant properties of these coatings allow just minimal surface preparation (standards as low as St 2, WJ-3) to be undertaken for the coatings to offer long-term protection of the substrate. There are no extensive dehumidification requirements as the coatings are solvent-free (no smell). The solvent-free nature of Chemco's potable water tank coatings also allow them to be applied by riding crews whilst the vessel is in operation at sea, with no disruption to passengers and other crew on-board.

These unique coating systems are now being utilized by all major shipping companies worldwide with complete success.

They are also suitable for almost all other tank work including ballast (IMO approved), grey water, sewage and crude oil tanks (IMO approved).
