Recovery of Small Plane in the Baltic Sea
After a single engine Antonov AN2 went down this spring in the Baltic Sea with two passengers on board, Mammoet Salvage was contracted by the Lithuanian Navy to recover the vessel and the remains. The aircraft was found and recovered by ROV's from a depth of 124 meters. After the recovery of one passenger and a thorough investigation by the Lithuanian Safety Board, the aircraft was once again lowered to the sea floor, to find its final resting place. A swift and safe operation 136 miles offshore, working closely with our colleagues from Mammoet Baltic.
