Krill Systems Inc., leader in advanced Vessel Fuel Measurement and Monitoring Systems (VFMMS), announces successful installation and sea-trial of Krill VFMMS system on M/V SEACOR ‘Olmeca’. The 221’ DP-2 PSV Supply Vessel marks the latest in an ongoing line of successful installations on the Seacor OSV fleet and continues Krill’s unbroken record of on-time, on-budget delivery to vessels operating in this sector of the worldwide oil and gas industry.

SEACOR Marine, headquartered in Houston, TX., is a leading provider of marine transportation services to exploration and production, oilfield service, offshore construction and military customers. Engineers at SEACOR take full advantage of the latest technologies available in the design of their vessels.  SEACOR Marine's operational, technical and safety procedures are revolutionary. The Company consistently employs the latest technology throughout its fleet of vessels, while driving the development of new technology in anticipation of customer needs.

In response to the specific operational requirements of this vessel, Krill Systems was again asked to supply fuel measurement data collection and transmission, in real time, in addition to bunker measurement, management and reporting. Coriolis flow-meters were used, exclusively, to provide the highest accuracy measurement of fuel consumption, one of the options made available by Krill’s very flexible design format.  The installed meters will measure the fuel consumption of: Main Engines, Generators and Bunkers.

Krill Systems uses Microsoft SQL server database technology to record sensor data with 2-second resolution and storage capacity of at least one year with unlimited roll-over capacity. Any communication system including Cellular or Satellite internet access, supporting standard SMTP email protocols, can be used to transmit customizable reports measuring Fuel Efficiency, Fuel Accountability, Fuel Quality, Fuel Logistics and Sensor Data, to any number of operators, anywhere. Data from vessel to client’s desktop is fully secured and encrypted with no monthly fees or charges.

“The key to Krill’s success in this field lies in paying close of all elements required for successful installation, from pre-installation survey through final system check-out and verification” says Brian Staton, Vice-President of Sales and Marketing. “No short-cuts can be taken if the installation is to work properly and we certainly don’t ever take them. This and close communication between Krill and Seacor allowed us to respond quickly to SEACOR Marine’s latest request and complete the project on schedule and on budget”.
