Jumbo Transports FPSO Modules

Heavy Lift Vessel (HLV) Fairplayer just arrived in Brazil, carrying three FPSO modules for its client Estaleiros Do Brasil (EBR). The large and heavy FPSO modules were loaded in Thailand and will be discharged in Soa Jose do Norte, Brazil. Fairplayer is especially fit for this job because of its lifting capabilities and large flush working deck.

Efficient Operations
The FPSO modules measure approximately 22 x17, 5 x 30m and the heaviest module weighs about 1,000t. Jumbo engineers offered technical solutions for stowage, deck strength and lifting height in order to lift and transport all modules in one efficient journey.

Project Manager Boudewijn van der Garden states: “Fairplayer is made for operations like this. The measurements of the modules provided an optimum use of our vessel’s lifting capacity. We applied special lifting gear and a rigging design to meet the specific loading requirements for the modules. In addition we also modified the transportation beams into suitable load spreaders. A versatile vessel like Fairplayer enables us to provide tailor made solutions for our clients.”

A dedicated Jumbo team attended the loading operation in Laem Chabang and is also present in Brazil in order to ensure a smooth discharge operation.
