Danish Minister Meets with Global Key Leaders at the Danish Maritime Forum
With his participation in the Danish Maritime Forum on 26 October the Danish Minister for Business and Growth will highlight the need for greater global cooperation when meeting with maritime key leaders from around the world.
Around 90% of world trade is transported by sea. Therefore, initiatives to increase global trade and new technological opportunities will be high on the agenda when global key leaders from all parts of the maritime industry meet at the Danish Maritime Forum on 26-27 October.
An important question will be how to correspond to the current unpredictability which is challenging the industry more than ever. For the first time in decades, growth in world trade is falling below global economic growth and the profound transformation of the global system of production and distribution makes it difficult to calculate credible forecasts.
The Danish Minister for Business and Growth, Troels Lund Poulsen, who will be among the keynote speakers at the Danish Maritime Forum states:
“I am looking forward to welcome maritime key leaders from around the world to the Danish Maritime Forum. The maritime industry plays an important role in securing a better future for us all. It is the backbone of world trade. However, the maritime industry is facing the challenge of unpredictability, which calls for greater global cooperation, and this is exactly what we hope to achieve with the Danish Maritime Forum.”
The Danish Maritime Forum brings together key leaders from around the world and all parts of the maritime value chain. Over the course of two days, they will work together on unleashing the potential of the global maritime industry in order to increase long term economic development and human wellbeing.
The Danish Maritime Forum is part of the Danish Maritime Days; a global platform for collaboration across the industry. Numerous events will bring together a broad spectrum of stakeholders from across the industry with the objective to find new solutions to the most important challenges facing the industry today and in the future. Danish Maritime Days will take place on 24-28 October 2016.
