Senesco Marine Delivers Escort Tug to McAllister

 Senesco Marine LLC, the premier Northeast builder of tug boats and barges, has announced this week the delivery of a 5,150 HP twin Azimuth Stern Drive (ASD) tug to McAllister Towing and Transportation.  

At 96’ x 34’, the Buckley McAllister is powered by two Caterpillar 3516CHD Tier 3 engines and two Schottel 1215 Z drives.   This propulsion tandem will provide an estimated running speed of 12 knots and a bollard pull of 67 tons.  Towing is provided by a JonRie 250 escort winch with full render/recover on the bow and a JonRie 512 tow winch on the stern.

The tug’s firefighting is capable of producing ~ 12,000 GPM through a pair of FFS 1200LB monitors.  The vessel will also have foam capability and a deluge system.  The vessel will operate in the southern New England area, primarily perform ship escort work in Buzzards Bay, Mass.   

A second vessel, the Eric McAllister is also currently under construction at Senesco Marine, and she will deliver later this year.
