Headway Organized First Domestic ECDIS Training

Qingdao Headway Technology Co., Ltd. organized its first domestic ECDIS training during Aug 26-27, 2013.

The training focused on agents and technical support staff from some Asian countries and regions, including Hong Kong, Singapore, India, Dubai, Turkey, Vietnam, Indonesia, the Philippines and so on. On the one hand, it designed to enhance the product familiarity and awareness of agents, also strengthen the service capabilities of technical support personnel through field training, to ensure a stable and professional offer of full service worldwide; On the other hand, it strictly followed the relevant standard to select training sites, facilities and teaching staff etc., and made the professional training standards of seaman as the standard to grant certificates.

As safety of life at sea and environmental protection are concerned, IMO is bringing out new rules constantly, and requiring ships must install ECDIS to change the navigation of safety. On 8th Dec, 2011, the Ministry of Transport passed the revised ‘’the Chinese seaman examination and certification issue rules’’ in the twelfth conference, it is clearly defined that seaman must accept the professional training of ECDIS and obtain induction certificate, and proposing a series of requirements to ECDIS training sites, facilities, the standard of equipment and teaching staff in nationwide, the rules have been lunched on 1st Mar 2012.

It is reported that Headway ECDIS training was carried out in batches according to geographical location of agents. It was mainly for the part this time, and will gradually expand to Europe, America and other regions, aims to further consolidate and improve the global network service of Headway; The next step is to train on the specialists of four management companies ,including Hong Kong's Wallem and Anglo Eastern, British Vships, and Singapore Thome.

As Headway ECDIS matures, it has developed a comprehensive training system and content, which can ensure timely providing professional training for the seaman, and awarding induction certificates. In addition, by virtue of the advantage of acquired CCS Type Approval and EC certificates, Headway has made more than 80 ship orders of ECDIS.
