Hiring and employment in the Maritime industry is ever-evolving and certainly has its challenges in the current economic environment.

The skills gap in Maritime is a well-covered topic which is spoken about regularly and is one of the sectors biggest challenges as it moves into the future. Louisiana’s Community & Technical Colleges and the Louisiana Association Of Business And Industry have produced a Maritime Workforce Study titled “An Invisible Giant: The Maritime Industry In Louisiana”. It looks in detail at the workforce shortage in the sector throughout Louisiana and what the industry needs to do to help secure its future.
