[Watch] White Humpback Spotted Off Australia

Published Aug 10, 2015 8:12 PM by The Maritime Executive

A rare white humpback whale was spotted off the coast of Queensland, Australia, on Monday. Whale watchers believe it may be the offspring of Australia's famous whale Migaloo.

Migaloo, a name giving by Aboriginal elders that means "white fella," is one member of a rare group of white whales that have been seen swimming in Australian waters.

Migaloo was thought to be the only known all white whale in the world up until September 2011 when an all white baby humpback calf was spotted.
