Ten Indian seafarers have been rescued after their ship was hijacked by pirates near Africa's Ivory Coast, India’s Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj said in a tweet on Sunday.

The rescue was undertaken with the help of the Nigerian Navy. However, an eleventh Indian and one Pakistani sailor are yet to be rescued.

The sailors were on board UAE-controlled tanker Maximus, and pirates are believed to have attacked the ship on February 11.
