The latest additions are for a series of three firm ships plus options of B.Delta37 design as open hatch general cargo ship, which will be built at the Chinese CSC Jinling Shipyard. This will bring the number of firm B.Delta37 newbuilding orders to 21 units and the total number of newbuilding orders of different types of B.Delta designs to 38 for various shipowners.
These about 38,300 tdw general cargo carriers have been ordered by the German shipowner Oldendorff Carriers GmbH & Co. The design is an amended version of the standard B.Delta37 design into an open hatch configuration. It features 40 tons SWL electro-hydraulic cranes, ice class 1C and is fully logsfitted.

Deltamarin’s design contract will include the Basic Design, Detail Design, Technical Procurement handling as well as a Site Team to ensure continuity all along the design phases to production.
The work will be carried out at Deltamarin’s offices in Europe and China and utilizing the partner network.
The B.Delta design focuses on fuel efficiency. The service speed at design draft shall be 14.0 knots and the model tested daily fuel oil consumption at design draft shall be 17.9 t including 15 % sea margin, ISO conditions.
The EEDI shall be about 30 % less than the requirement to come into force.
The first ship in the B.Delta series was delivered to the Owner, Canadian Steamship Lines, and makes her speed on the sea trials in accordance with model test proving the performance of the hull form and propulsion.
Besides the B.Delta37 the bulk carrier series includes also B.Delta25, B.Delta64 and B.Delta82 designs. Discussions about further contracts on other sizes and types are going on with several shipowners and yards.
This B.Delta newbuilding project has been brokered by Deltamarin’s partner Barry Rogliano Salles (BRS).
