U.S. Coast Guard Responds to Overturned Crane in Absecon Bay, NJ [VIDEO]

The Coast Guard responded Tuesday to an overturned crane in Absecon Bay that leaked approximately 50 gallons of hydraulic fluid before it was secured.

The crane operator was taken to a local hospital for a possible head injury.

While loading the fishing boat Michael Junior, the crane car toppled over and spilled the hydraulic fluid. A local environmental control team is on scene and has deployed two small sections of containment boom to prevent the hydraulic fluid from spreading.

A boatcrew from Coast Guard Station Atlantic City is on scene monitoring the situation.

Also responding are:

- Atlantic City Fire Department crews
- Atlantic City Police Department personnel
- EMS personnel

The cause of the incident is under investigation by Coast Guard Sector Delaware Bay personnel.
