Noble Corporation confirmed that the Noble Paul Wolff, a dynamically positioned semisubmersible rig operating off the coast of Brazil, experienced a ballast control incident on Friday, February 28 at approximately 01:00 a.m. (BRT) local time.

The platform, located in the Campos oil basin off the coast of Rio de Janeiro, began to list. But there appears to be no risk of it sinking.

The crew took prompt corrective action, including safely securing the well, and measures are currently underway to resolve the matter.  As a precaution, 77 non-essential personnel were evacuated from the rig without injuries, and no pollution has been reported.

Noble continues to work with its customer and appropriate authorities in connection with this matter.
