Container Ship and Pilot Boat Collide

The US Coast Guard reports a vessel collision resulting in injuries near the Ambrose Pilot Station off of Sandy Hook, New Jersey, on Tuesday.

Coast Guard Sector New York command center received notification around 2 p.m. of a collision involving a New York Pilot boat and a 984-foot cargo container ship.

Four crewmen from the pilot boat sustained injuries; three were minor, and one crewman was taken to hospital.

The cause of the incident is under investigation.
