Lloyds of London Sued by Descendants of Black American Slaves

The group?s attorney, Ed Fagan, claims that Lloyds knew that its participation in the slave trade would devastate the indigenous population of Africans. ?They took people, put them in ships, and wiped out their identities. Why is it to too far-fetched to say that Blacks should be entitled to compensation for damages and genocide committed against them?? Fagan said.

Mr. Fagan has previously represented victims of the Holocaust and is currently involved with lawsuits against multi-national corporations that have benefited from apartheid.

Lloyds of London would not comment on the pending filing of the lawsuit.
