Comprehensive Operations Software Solution For Liner Sector Launched By Softship

Building on the success of its established vessel scheduling software (VOYCES), Softship - the global provider of liner and agent software applications – announces the launch of a revolutionary new software package that delivers a range of added-value services for liner operators.

Following input from its global customer based developed over 25 years, Softship has created a comprehensive new software tool to complement its existing VOYCES application. It delivers:

Vessel reporting: On-board software to translate and transmit standard vessel reports directly to shore-side applications allowing operators to update and amend schedules accordingly.

Bunker management: A revolutionary facility allowing an analysis of the full 
impact on bunker consumption caused by vessel delays and schedule changes.

Capacity planning: This links with the carrier’s booking software to give 
operators an at-a-glance view of load factors and capacity availability for an entire voyage.

Sea map: The ability to map and compare real AIS positions of vessels alongside their scheduled position and highlight differences.

Statement of facts: Reporting of port call events, confirmation of cargo loaded/discharged and bunkers received. All corresponding port costs are automatically calculated.

Checklist: A facility to ensure all common tasks required whilst a 
vessel is in port are authorised, completed and checked.  

On announcing the new packaged application, Softship’s executive director, Thomas Wolff said:
