Help Set the Agenda for Future Ocean Business at the Sustainable Ocean Summit
Have you registered to help set the agenda for ensuring future access to ocean areas and resources by responsible industry operators?
Leadership companies will gather to do this at the Sustainable Ocean Summit 2013 (SOS) - the only international, multi-industry platform to advance business collaboration in ocean stewardship.
This is not a conference to discuss the issues and then hope someone else will do something. The SOS is a working meeting to develop collaborative industry leadership to tackle shared ocean sustainability risks and opportunities through World Ocean Council programs. Will you be there?
The limited space at SOS 2013 is filling with senior industry representatives from shipping, oil and gas, fisheries, aquaculture, tourism, renewable energy, mining, ports, dredging, marine science/technology, maritime legal, finance, and insurance, and other ocean industries. Have you registered?
SOS 2013 registrants are particularly excited about the “Oceans 2050” workshop on 22 April. This unprecedented ocean business community event will identify the drivers, trends, and scenarios affecting the future of ocean business across the sectors. Participants will map out the critical pathways to responsible ocean industry success for the half-century ahead. Space in the Oceans 2050 workshop is especially limited, so please register early.
On 23 April, the overall SOS 2013 will commence with a unique “Ocean Executive Forum” - a panel of CEOs, VPs and senior executives from oil/gas, shipping, fisheries, aquaculture, offshore renewables, and marine technology who will debate “Oceans 2050: How do we collaborate to secure the future of responsible ocean business activities?”
The future of ocean business will be determined by how well industry confronts the risks and opportunities of the following topics that will be addressed in SOS 2013 sessions:
• Ocean Policy and Ocean Industries in International Waters
• Marine Spatial Planning
• Sound and the Marine Environment
• BioFouling and Invasive Species
• Responsible Cargo Management and Port Waste Reception
• The Arctic: Challenges and Opportunities for Responsible Industries
• Marine Ecosystem Services and Blue Carbon
• Climate Change and Sea Level Rise: Port and Coastal Infrastructure Adaptation
• Smart Ocean/Smart Industries: Ocean, Weather and Climate Data Collecting by Industry
• Financing Innovation and Technology for Ocean Sustainability
SOS: Helping to ensure the sustainability of your company by shaping the future of responsible ocean industry operations.
We look forward to seeing at this unique gathering of the international ocean business community.
