Headhunter, Inc. Completes Sewage Treatment Plant for South China Sea Platform
Mark Mellinger, President of Headhunter, Inc., announced that the company’s Tidal Wave HMX Model 8202 sewage treatment plant has been completed and exported to China for installation on the Panyu PY34-1 CEP, a $205 million gas production platform under construction in Qingdao by China Offshore Oil Engineering Company (COOEC).
“We are pleased to have been selected to provide the Tidal Wave HMX 8202 for COOEC, which is building the gas platform for the China National Offshore Oil Corporation,” said Mellinger. “Our 8,000 gallon-per-day system will be installed on a central equipment platform with an estimated 150 people that is operating in the PY34-1 Field, located about 250 kilometers southeast of Hong Kong in the South China Sea. The contract required that our system receive Chinese Classification Society approval, and we are pleased to report its acceptance.”
The Tidal Wave HMX systems are USCG-certified to IMO MEPC 159(55) standards. They can process up to 50,000 gallons of effluent per day and use flocculants, chemical oxidation, hydro-maceration and patented crossflow separation techniques to destroy influent biomass. The six-stage process provides trouble-free treatment of black and gray water and a sterile effluent for disposal. The PLC controller allows treatment techniques to be customized after installation for varying hydraulic and organic loading conditions or to meet varying performance standards in different parts of the world.
